It’s lunch time and I’m talking breakfast. I guess that proves just how much I love breakfast. I have to admit though, I wasn’t a morning person when I was younger and I certainly didn’t have the appetite for breakfast. Nowadays I eat like a king (or queen, perhaps) in the morning and by dinner I turn into a peasant/prince (sorry, so not ready to give up on dinner yet!).
Anyway, I mainly catch up on reading blogs over the weekend and stumbled onto this post on Fieke’s blog about #kookboekweek.

You may know this or not, but I have quite the collection of cookbooks. Earlier this year I promised myself to pick a new recipe to try my hand at every Sunday. This has worked well over the previous months. Fieke, however, takes on a different approach by labeling one week per month as cookbook week (Dutch: kookboekweek).
I’m never one to say no to challenges so I picked up one of the most beautiful cookbooks, Thursday Dinners by the ever so talented Louise.
On Sunday morning I kicked off my cookbook week with the most delicious cinnamon rolls as pictured above. So easy to make, really, and I didn’t even have to get out of my PJs to have a bakery-worthy breakfast. A win-win in my book.
I’m continuing my cookbook strike over the course of the week as I have new recipes planned tomorrow and Friday. I’m not sure if I’ll be sharing them on the blog, but make sure to check out my Instagram feed to stay in the loop on things!
Do you like to try out new recipes by using cookbooks (or the internet)?
